    Hi,
I'm sure you are all getting tired of my posts but I think this is a good piece:)
Marked on the back HB Sterling which I believe is for H. Bahe. I have no idea what the other marks are, they are in black felt(?) pen. Coral with turquoise I think. Should I polish it?
    Any information appreciated
    thanks for looking

I would polish the silver. Maybe just warm water and a soft toothbrush on the stones . Never get tired of the posts. No posts no fun!

Coral and turquoise and ....yipe. The black marks on the back are the artisan's original inventory/price tags. I'd leave them alone. You can give it a good wipe with a sunshine cloth and clean up some tarnish, but otherwise I'd leave bad enough alone.

that is interesting info, thanks evelyb30! I think I will leave it alone and leave any polishing to the new owner.

$275 is a one time cost price.
all the black marks are pawn shop writing....
I learned if you take cigarette ash and rub it on the marker.....poof it'll be gone.
This is good quality Navajo work , ala Kirk Smith style & I suggest you polish it up right !

It's a beautiful piece, CX. Keep the posts coming, I always look forward to your questions as they often would be ones I would have, too. Helps us to learn what is out there. :):):)

thanks komokwa, that is a great piece. I found that site which is how I figured out the H Bahe for the signature but not finding much else. There are some pieces that are listed but nobody seems to have information.
I'm not going to polish this, I'll leave it as it.
    thanks Lucille:)

Is there paint/fingernail polish under the 275?

nope, it doesn't feel like anything is there - it is lighter/cleaner than the rest, maybe someone tried to clean it?

It may have been acid tested for silver which would remove the tarnish/patina.

Can you tell us what size it is....by measuring the inside length..

Thank-you Holly! would this be considered damage?
the inside length is 5", the centre piece of turquoise and coral is 1 1/2"H, the 2 smaller pieces are 1 1/8"H.

Lady's bracelet then, since it's probably about 6 when you add in the gap. A man's bracelet would be a bigger.

I posted this elsewhere and was told this could be a piece by Harvey Begay. There are examples of his work with this mark apparently - I'll have to search to find some but this a good lead. There is no documentation for H Bahe which is probably why I haven't been able to find anything.
they also said the same as evelyb30 - just use a sunshine cloth but leave the black marks alone.
