Some old photographic prints here.. printed in Saxony and Czech.. worth holding onto or are they more of sentimental value do you think? Can anyone kindly offer more info? Size: 6cm x 9cm 3.5in x 2.5in approx Thanks a lot, Sam
Sam, I can only read printed in Czechoslovakia, can't read the last one. There were times when Saxony was (semi) autonomous. The Czechoslovakian ones, on the other hand, are too old to have been printed in the Czech Republic, currently known as Czechia. Complicated, I know.
With the captions printed on the back like that, they look like commercial souvenirs for tourists. And with the numbering, clearly part of a larger set. I would doubt that they have significant value.
The photos themselves could have been taken in the 1930s, but black and white postcards like these were printed well into the 1960s. The paper bag could be 1950s-60s, maybe. Souvenir shops used to sell postcards in those paper bags.
They do appear to be souvenir photographs, the type sold in kiosks. The bag is consistent with that and I think dating is correct. Doesn't seem to be a lot of demand for photographs of either subject. Debora
