From afar I thought native but when I got it it def looks like it’s Asian inspired. Is it a cheap piece of junk? Any value? It’s pretty heavy. I don’t see any marking but could have been worn off too. The blue part feels like stone def not plastic.

Is there a reason why you didn't provide a photograph shot from straight on?

I think its brass . Could have a little bit of age ,but likely 100 years instead of a 1000 . I actually think its pretty cool .

Yeah actually there was. At the moment I replied I was in bed with my two year old and couldn’t get up to take a picture. But here is one

It is a nice East Asian inspired brass dragon ring, no older than the 1970s-80s imo. Similar rings are still being made in Thailand, but I suspect people are casting them in the West as well.
    Highly decorative, but cheap.
I fail to see the logic. You could post a thread with two side view photos while in bed with your two year old, but you couldn't post a front view photo along with the side views because you were in bed with your two year old.

Because those were the only two photos I had on my phone. Now if you want the entire story (not sure why this is so important) I’ll give it to you..

My photos on in my google photos album have been randomly showing blurry..randomly picked pictures and the front view was one of those pictures whereas the side views were not. So at the time I was laying in bed (still don’t know why I’m explaining this ) that’s what I had available and it was not important enough to wake my baby up to take a front angle picture for you.

I don't, and I didn't read it. You asked us for help, but forgot to take a front view photo. It happens.
The way Debora asked the question was largely rhetorical, which means all you had to do was take the photo and post it, along with a nice reply.

Any idea where I would be able to get a few more? I have a few friends wanting it! It would be nice to get a few gifts

I was, and still am, fine, thank you. No need to be so touchy, and interpret things in such a very negative way, Ashley.
No need to share very personal details of your life on a jewellery forum when it isn't relevant either. Let's face it, it sounded like "the dog ate my homework", didn't it.
And don't bite people's heads off, it tends to put people off.

Not my field of interest. In the past other members have commented on you expecting others to do basic work like this for you. There is such a thing as google.....;)

I'm having kind of a hard time processing what seem like unfair comments about how Ashley responded to a question here. It's been decades since I've been responsible for a 2 year old, but I can understand that it could be more difficult for her to do things like taking photos immediately when asked, and spending more time googling than it would be for those of us who don't have toddlers at home.

No one asked her to take photos immediately, no one on antiquers ever asks that of anyone so please don't suggest that is what was going on here.
The point is that she was rather nasty to Debora, and used her being in bed with her child as an excuse, when she had simply forgot. As I said, it happens, we all forget things. No use her lashing out at other people when she forgets, and using a child as an excuse.
She has spent more time being negative about it and thinking of a sarcastic comment to make, than she would have spent simply googling the ring.

There are people here who have small children and don't do what Ashley does. And those people thank the people who help them, something which Ashley seems to 'forget' in many of her threads. I am sorry to have to say it, but there are quite a few members who won't even help Ashley anymore because of her attitude.

No offense Joan, but I am not going to spend any more time on a brass ring and an ungrateful woman who makes up feeble excuses.

I apologize, I shouldn't have used the words "immediately when asked," because I meant to refer to the question about why Ashley couldn't have posted a front view photo at the same time she posted the other photos. I understand now there is some problematic history here that I wasn't aware of, and am concerned that I may not understand the etiquette that is expected for this forum since I don't post very often.

I don't want to get myself in trouble in the future, so I looked through most of Ashley's posts that started in October last year, and did notice that she didn't say thank you on many of the posts or do a final response after the last person responded. Maybe it would help new people if "The Rules" included a section on proper etiquette, such as (1) before starting a thread, do at least some research including searching key words on Google and explain what research you've already done; (2) always include photos of at least the front, sides, top, bottom, and signatures (if relevant) on the item in question, (3) after the last person responds, always express appreciation for the information everyone provides, whether helpful or not; (4) don't share personal details of your life that aren't relevant to the forum; and (5) if you feel that another member isn't being as respectful or appreciative as they should be, send them a personal message explaining your concerns.
