necklace,what am I made of ?

Hi all. I never buy jewelry,but this was .50 so I figured,what the hay ! Its marked sterling on the clasp,and its strung on wire,not string ? Any ideas on what its made of ? thanks in advance for any input.

 

Are the beads the same material as the pendant?

My guess is amethyst.

 

I have this necklace in potato pearls and amethyst that I think may be of the same ilk. I believe mine to be recent and Chinese.



Above the pendant on yours, are there little crimped blocks like these?

The necklace is garnet, if they're as dark red as they look. Looks like something I'd be taking apart for the beads.

 

Need a better shot that shows the color of the beads. It's difficult to tell against that ground.

No doubt ! I have carpal in my left hand,but I keep forgetting and grab stuff with it,with the inevitable result of it hitting the floor. Sigh,getting old is wonderful,said no one ever !

 

I know the feeling. The MS is cranking up but good; I'm figuring out how to move quickly on 1/4 power and 1/2 the neural feedback I'm supposed to have until things decide (maybe) to work again. I'm betting any old crafter would love to get those out of your hair. Put them up in the freebie section. I'd love them but I'm up to my eyebrows in beads as it is.

 

I already have a taker,and I don't mind passing them on. The more time passes,the less inclined I am to think I'll "fix" something later. I hope you feel better soon.
