Found this necklace a while back in a costume lot. It is signed Dean Russell 63 S. I can find no mention of his name in any of my jewelry resources, Native American or otherwise. It tests positive for sterling, although I didn't test the beads yet.

It is not recognizably Native American. Just wondering, is the blue oval a stone? Enamel?

It looks like a composite of some sort - composite opal or lab opal maybe? I don't think this is NA; it's more likely artisan of some sort.

Maybe a student piece. It's quite roughly done :(

I agree, the punch marks look rough for sure. I can't tell what the cabochon is, other than a stone of some type. Looks to have a coat of something on it. Thanks

I was thinking instead of 2Ls at the end, it might be a U., but I can’t find any real name like that. :(

Our high school has a jewelry class and the kids produce some pretty good stuff. I'm going to say I think this is a student or amateur piece.
