I have two pieces of jewelry with purple stones/gems/whatever...she says they are antique and valuable...I think they are junk costume jewelry lol I’d like to get a few opinions..

Also on the bracelet it says “LC”. I thought maybe it was a Liz Claiborne bracelet? But it doesn’t look like the signature s

You are absolutely right, they are costume, and they are not antique. Some costume jewellery is worth more than some precious jewellery though.
Others on the forum know more about costume jewellery, they will be along later.

I think it could be said, though, that "antique and valuable" and "costume jewelry" need not necessarily be mutually exclusive terms.

Yes to Claiborne. Pendant is 1990s ish, I have it's twin with an orange stone - it has minimal value, but is pretty. The festoon bib is nice, especially with that Japanese influence. Probably late 80s.

The pendant is late 1980s to early 90s costume and not good quality. I'd have pegged the festoon piece as far later; if we could see the clasp it would be easier to tell. It's a style that was made in several eras, but those rhinestones and the goldtone color mark it as later rather than earlier.

As others have said, not all costume goes cheap. I sold a piece of Chanel jewelry, not old and with some damage, for at least $300 more than I paid for it. That was about a year ago. Old pre-WWII Trifari can go for absolutely SILLY money, among others. Sherman rhinestone pieces, some D&E pieces, etc all go for eye-popping amounts. It all depends on who's looking and who wants it.

Yeah well. Pie, meet sky. Which doesn't mean I don't keep my eyes peeled! For the OP, the Boucher piece is a rare rhinestone and enamel octopus pin made by a maker named Boucher. I've been known to call it the "butt-ugly octopus"; it's nothing I'd ever wear, but would cheerfully sell.
