1/ Think it has a Japanese name for the glazing process but not Raku.
Too cute and well done to throw it in the bin. Could be a local potter but the signature (N***T or V***T) doesn't seem to fit any so far. How would you describe it online?

2/ This Mintons vase circa 1891-1912 doesn't seem to fit Art Nouveau/Aesthetic/Secessionist descriptions but I have been wrong lots of times before. So apart from describing it as "Shame about the chunk missing underneath" what artistic period would you attribute it to??

Try shrink glaze, shrinking glaze, glaze shrinkage.

Think it is a bit more involved than just shrink glaze although it is certainly associated but with this delicate vertical line style I'm reasonably sure there is a name for that process. Got an itch that says it's Japanese but can't find it.

It is a reticulated glaze. This is not a Japanese vase IMO.

Signature could possibly be the BC potter Herman Venema

Looking at a Venema signature on Google images, it is different from OP’s piece.
