Need Help Copper Piece ID/Maker

    Trying to figure out what this is, how old it is & maker, if possible.
    Can't find any of same online.

    That sounds right for an ashtray. A Google Lens search will bring up lots of similars, like this one in brass. Arts & Crafts era maybe.

    Maybe an early personalizing option? I used to write tons of checks (I'm sure true of most of the older members). ID was always an issue. Having your picture on the check might have helped. Vanity checks?
