I just picked up this very fancy old flintlock pistol. It just love it, very fancy inlay work. Anyone have an idea of the age or country of origin??? Flintlock 1.jpg

The only guess I can manage is that with all the MOP it might be Middle-Eastern/ Ottoman in origin ? But that's just a shot in the dirk !

Beautiful pistol, and another vote for Ottoman empire, possibly 19th century.
MOP inlay was done a lot on Afghan firearms as well, but the style of the silver looks more Turkish.
The silver needs a good polish, but right now iooks like it is silver and niello, which was a specialty of Bursa, not far from Istanbul. If it still looks like niello when it is clean;), Bursa could be a place to look into.
I agree, the powder flask look like the brass repros we used to get from Turkey and Greece in the 1960s and 70s.
The flask and the pistol were probably just thrown together to make it look complete. There is a huge difference in quality, so no way the original owner of the pistol ever used such a roughly cast brass flask.
