As you all know I'm not the best at markings on chinese porcelain, so I humbly ask for your help. Thank you.

I'm not at all sure of the mark because of the very blurry pic. It would have helped if the pic was cropped, enlarged/resized and sharpened. After downloading the pic of the mark and editing it, I think???? it might be one of the Nichi Hon (Nippon) marks. Mind you this is strictly a **guess.** Do wait for others to chime in. I couldn't find an identical one to your mark on the following page, but do look at #s: 1091 and 1514 on the following link. They are at the bottom of the "Nippon" section. These particular Nichi Hon marks consist of 2 characters. Your mark looks like the 2 characters are squished together/touching. Also the border is different. Again wait for others. The forum isn't running over with Japanese or Chinese marks people, but there are a couple of knowledgeable gurus that frequent here.

I see you are using a Samsong Galaxy S5 phone. I'm not familiar with Samsong phones, but graphic editing apps are readily available for AT&T Smart phones. I have a good 1/2 dozen graphic editing apps on my Smartphone that I use often to resize, crop, brighten, contrast, defog, sharpened, etc... images before uploading to the web. Your pic was too small and too blurried to edit it much. Following is one of my edited versions.

Thanks susan! I'll go look for an editing app on this phone. Hopefully I can upload better pictures. Again thank you for your input!

One more thing, the marks are squished pretty heavily. I guess even back then you had people with bad handwriting [emoji23]

Write..., you did well in editing the image. I'm sorry I haven't any real help for you other than my above reply. I was hoping by now one of the few Oriental marks had given an opinion. I suspect they haven't been to the forum. They don't frequent the forum everyday and possibly only once a week. This reply of mine well bump this thread to the top again in hopes it will draw attention.

BTW, one of gurus is khl889 who replied to your message "Awkward modern chinese vase?" last Friday.

    Hi there,

plate is not Chinese - it is Japanese Imari porcelain from Meiji period. This is common mark on Imari porcelain - marked with blue square mark or unmarked at all - occasionally there is Japanese characters
