I found this chair in the attic of my grandmothers house. Unfortunately, she could not remember where it came from or how long she has had it. I am very curious to see if anyone could identify a specific period. Thank you for your help!

    I agree with 1950s colonial-style telephone table/bench. Possibly maple?
FWIW, I've always thought of a gossip chair, or teta-a-tete chair, as the type that seats two:

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

Nice.....or "courting chairs" I've heard the opposing round ones called!

So have I, 'courting chair' or 'lovers' chair'. Nicer than gossip chair imo.

    The telephone table is left-handed??

The one Debora posted is. Although the cord would be long enough for right-handed people as well.
Many people change phone hands during longer conversations, so I don't think it matters much.

Could, of course, be by Ethan Allen but looks a bit refined for their furniture to my eye.

Woops.....I saw the picture that Deborah posted and got confused and thought that was the mystery in question! Was there any pictures of the drawer construction?
