Trying to identify these ink drawings on paper. Dimensions of each is 5.5 inches tall, 3.5 inches wide. All of them are signed 'M.H.D.' in the lower-right corner. My mom got them in 1978 from her father's estate in Brighton, Massachusetts, and the estate was supposedly part of the Faneuil Hall.
The images are posted here. Hoping for more information about the artwork and who the artist is.

I use a site for signature identification http://www.findartinfo.com/english.html one of the nice features is it lets you put initials in... unfortunately I had no luck (http://www.artistssignatures.com/monograms.php?page=0) brought nothing as well...but my sense is 1920's I am not quite sure how that would relate to an estate at Faneuil Hall. Possibly an estate of a person who owned a market stall on the first floor. As a side note my ancestor Shem Drowne did the Grasshopper weather vane for the Hall.

Well, this will drive me crazy! Whoever MHD was, he/she must have been well-known at the time. Those illustrations are enchanting: a bit like Charles Twelvetrees with a sexy, 20's slant.

I'm getting a female artist, 1920s vibe. There's a Kewpie doll sensibility to them. Only just hit me that 'Kewpie' could be from Cupid.

Well, that's odd. The pictures are still there, but they're not showing up on johnnycb09's post any more.

That looks like the kind of message you get when a picture has been removed from the hosting site. Maybe imgur is down? or he deleted them there?
