Featured Need help identifying my CREATURE

    C5309DF5-E507-41A8-A230-D1FA3A5C623C.jpeg Yes it is creepy. It is old ivory. I have researched Asian and no luck. Someone told me there were Monks that did some odd ivory carvings but no name or origin offered. Possibly Mythological, but I went on overload trying to delve into that. No markings, not pierced for Netsuke wear. I’m hoping someone can help. I am aware of the Ivory laws.

    Looks like he's baring his teeth, in an aggressive posture, not smiling - at least to me. And yes rhino's have teeth:

    I am aware they have teeth but a big smile and the overall look of his face makes me think he may have been a casket box to guard its master.
