    Hello,

I bought a set of vintage Thangka. There is a signature on the back , probably by artist. I wonder if anyone could help me to identify the time age of this painting.

Agree. Of course thangka styles are classic, with a set iconography. I have a few 1970s thangkas as well as an antique one. The elegant style appeals to me.

As for the Western signature, European Vajrayana Buddhists have been known to paint thangkas, other Westerners probably too.

Love Tibetan Mythos-as gonzo (or more) than the ancient Egyptians-their 'beasties' are endless and quite imaginative.
Here's one- 'Yamantaka the destroyer of death'.

Yamantaka is always impressive. I have a small antique Yamantaka bronze, must have been made for a travel altar. It fits in the palm of my hand, but it is still impressive.
