Featured Need Help Telling Me What This is???

    Hello,
    Found this unique little piece in a thrift store yesterday and it called to me... I really would love to know what in the world it was used for. Seems early 20th century or maybe older?? It stands maybe 24-30” tall. I Wish I had measured it. But pics will help you folks identify for me! Thanks and love this site.

    Looks like it might have some heat damage on the sides.
    Warming oven of some sort?

    LOL, sorry!:sorry: have seen them before at furniture auctions, they can be worth a bit if original paint decoration.

    That's certainly what it appears to be. But... wouldn't it be unusual for it to have an open back?

    Yes, they would stack the plates thru the door with the back exposed to fireplace.
    Why these are at furniture auctions i have no clue but they are made of tin & often paint decorated, "toleware" i think they call it

    OP example appears to be repainted so i dunno how toleware people feel about that but, even devalued i would guess Paul SCORED if purchased at a thrift.
