hi everyone. i just picked this piece up today. it needs some repairs, but it's not terribly damaged. i think the colors are good and it's extremely detailed. i want to list it on ebay and i'd like to use the proper name for this pattern(if there is a proper name). This quilt measures 86"x82".

I believe it is a Log Cabin variation. I would include the number on stitches per inch. The finer quilts have at least 10-14 stitches per inch.

From the photos provided, it looks like a mass-produced quilt to me. Can we have close-up photos of the stitches on the back with a ruler next to them?

hi, thank you for your responses. i'm going to need to get more pictures. i don't have any of the backside right now. all of the small squares of fabric appear to be joined by hand stitching. however, the quilt stitching is much less detailed. i would estimate more like 4 to 6 stitches per inch. here's a picture of a spot of damage that gives some sense of it. quilt_dam2.jpg

It does look like a mass-produced quilt. They often had hand stitching, too. It's quite simplistic, the filling looks like polyester fiberfill, and the stitches are so widely placed... those are all giveaways. The size also points to a modern full/queen. I had a similar one purchased in the 1990s from Bed, Bath, & Beyond.
Sorry to be so blunt... but this would be in the donation pile if it were in my house.

no offense taken. quilts are not my specialty. i have had some nice ones through the years. what it really illustrates is how slow it is for finding good stuff anymore in my area.

I don't think it's that bad. Even if it's 80's or 90's repro and not in great shape you can still sell to be used as intended or as a cutter for sewing projects for table runners, centerpieces or placemats. Those are real popular right now. It has nice colors and pattern is good for those kind of projects. I did a very quick google photo search but couldn't find a pattern name. Good luck.
