benbenny007 I buy rubbish, and sell antiques

Need help with identifying this old painting on masonite board. Think it's Israel or middle East area because one of the buildings has a dome roof which probably could be the local mosque or a synagogue of the town. Just guessing. What do you think? Does anyone recognize the style or maybe a rough age?

Looks like it was previously framed and in a later timeperiod displayed without the frame as it has old tape and rope attached to the back where it just be hanged with.

It seems to me like a quality work and it defo has some age to it.

    Any info input is welcome.

Southern or Eastern Mediterranean ... somewhere. It could just as easily be Greece or one of the Islands. You've got me.

I'm with evelyb on possible Eastern Med. Very nice painting.

reminds me of neo-impressionism or a rather extreme form of pointillism.

Just wanted to add that your piece most likely dates to the 2nd half of the 20th century which is not old enough for it to be considered antique.

JMHO, I would not call it Impressionist, much too modern, a whole different style :)

I agree, it has a 60s-70s look imo.

Totally agree and pretty much screaming my parent’s living room. I’d call it a 60s/70s expressionistic landscape-cityscape oil on board.

Greek island churches do indeed have those roofs.
