I’m a volunteer with Manassas Battlefield Trust, a 501(c)(3) organization that helped Manassas National Battlefield with the many needs of restoration, maintenance, etc, that the meager government funding doesn’t cover. The Battlefield Park does not and has never owned a cannon that was used during either of the American Civil War battles fought there. The only surviving cannon known to have been used there has been offered to the Trust. The funds required for this acquisition must be raised. So all of you millionaires please consider funding this. The rest of us can help greatly by spreading the word, forwarding this extensively, particularly by sending to any business or organization which makes, or you suspect makes charitable donations. The ad below has official contact info. Thanks! https://flic.kr/p/2otqZhh

I wish I were one of the 'proverbial millionaires'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But then if we were, it's beginning to look like some party in office might be looking to put their sticky little fingers on it.........no more to be said......staying off the topic!! I understand the rules......

Gummint gave 4 same type to a GAR post in PA in 1873, all sold off by a cemetery ca. 1995, this one got to present owner via auction, ca. 2016. He was first to research it by its date, registry number.
