First, is this a Pedestal Bowl or a True Open Compote? Also, what is the Pattern Name? I thought maybe Stippled Strawberry, but now I'm unsure. It measures 9 1/2" overall diameter and 7 3/4" inside diameter, 5" high. I saw one of these on Worthpoint but that seller didn't know much either. It's fairly awesome (IMHO), the strawberries are dimensional (as in, stick out from the surface). TY!

Thanks! I think so too. Doesn't it just belong in a country kitchen? If we could only get Joanna Gaines to put EAPG in her kitchen designs, the glass would finally bring what it's worth. But then, we'd probably run out of it, LOL!

I've thought recently how we really do need a popular designer to bring back all sorts of antiques in their home decorating. Maybe we could start a GoFundMe campaign for antiques sellers and use the funds to bribe a designer! :D

I think that getting a few placement pieces is the best we can hope for. Most of those TV designers make their money from retailers of new merchandise and of course, starting their own brands on Chinese goods.

Remember when Martha Stewart did an article in her magazine about EAPG cake stands. They went crazy on ebay after that! Not to mention her influence on all the jadeite things.

You're probably right, and good point about the TV designers. We need a 2019 Martha Stewart who's heavily into antiques!

    Hi -
    Yours is not Stippled Strawberry.

Here's the Stippled Strawberry pattern in blue.
See the background, similar to orange peel? That is what is meant by stipple.

I looked at EAPGS and found just 4 strawberry patterns and none of them were a match. Yesterday, I thought maybe Fairfax Strawberry could be it, but the foot on the bowl doesn't seem to match. Also, I can't find any examples to compare, other than table set items.

It might not be an American Glass company.

I read on the etsy forums that many mentions of vintage or antiques are in Country Living Magazine with them showing the photos of the items and the shop where purchased.. I haven't been lucky enough to be featured there, but....
am hoping to be one day.
    I don't get magazines now.

I've been puzzling over this since last night, don't know , don't think I've ever seen it, but it reminds me of some of the patterns D. C. Ripley (1878-1891) put on the market. He did strange things with flanges, among other things.
That is absolutely a strawberry pattern, no doubt about that.

George N, I tried that source, no joy.

Dori's right, I had it in my files. It's Ripley's No. 40, patented JUly 30, 1878, called No. 40, Strawberry Bowl, Retainer Rim, Compote. Lets see if I can put a picture here.... No. 40.jpg
