Silverplate made in Yokohama or Tokyo because they are near Mt Fuji. You probably already know that this is an Army Air Cavalry emblem.

I would like to know what makes you think this is silverplate?

If it were sterling, I believe it would be marked either with a jungin mark or the decimal standard.

Eh, have handled enough mid 20th century Japanese silver marked simply 'SILVER' to be comfortable with this being solid silver, rather than plated - OP could have it tested if in doubt. Unfortunately, it's a bit difficult to search for a 'silver' mark, but did recall that metalsmith Fred Zweig, who has been researching marks found on Nunome-Zogan (Japanese Damascene), includes some Mt. Fuji marks in his files - shown below is a somewhat similar mark, and also not identified...

From what I have read the word Silver is how it was marked before 925 came about in Japan for export I know you cant always believe what you read on the internet, I will test it but I am pretty sure it is silver.

Thank you to both of you I am done searching just going to chalk it up as a mystery

Thanks, Hollyblue, I've corrected it - must have had some sort of brain-fart, am well aware of the proper term.
