    Hi all,

I need help with this watercolor. I believe it to be Japanes. It use to sit in a frame from the 1960s so it is at least 50 years old if not older. Can somebody read the text or the seal mark to name it to a artist. Its def a original wateecolour and not a print. Fairly large size of 100x70cm
Painted on old hand laid paper.

    Thank You

It looks Chinese to me, Benny. Carp are also important symbols to the Chinese, representing wealth and prosperity.

It is not a study, it as art as it is.
Carp and goldfish related things are often presents at the time of the Chinese New Year, to wish for prosperity in the coming year.

That is interesting to know. Asian art was never my strongest point. Anybody a idea who the artist could be?
