We have a spoon that we inherited and we’re wondering about what it is made of and from where. Any information would be really appreciated.

    Regards

I suspect Silver Plate or Sterling,so ive moved to Silver Forum. Any chance of a closer shot of marks? Is it JW?

    Moved? It's still in Metalware.

We need a much better focused picture of the marks to tell anything more about what, where and when. It does look like an "apostle" spoon with the man on the end. Can you post a picture of him right way up?

This is of course an "apostle" spoon, but from what I can see, it's not silver and these are not real marks. If it were silver, there would be at the very least a lion passant, a town mark, and a date letter. There could also a makers mark, and rarely a monarch head. It might be the light, but the glow doesn't look right either. Sorry

The marks look like they've been deliberately erased.

I wouldn't be surprised if what it said was something like E&Co EPNS. Elkington used a shield like that

If Richard does take and post a better picture, we'll never know.
