Can anyone help me identify these two antique mortar & pestles? Not sure if they are brass or bronze, but they are quite heavy and have some interesting markings.

If the paper labels taped to the bottom are legit, then obviously they are quite old. As you can see the second one has a visible (what I believe to be) brassiere stamp... which is rare even for authentic antiques according to my limited research.

I tried looking up the words around the outside, the brassiere stamp, the year, etc etc to no avail.

Thank you very much. I really really wanted to believe these were authentic, but somehow I figured the chances for that were quite slim.

The information on this website had my hopes up. Particularly where it talked about seams and color.

If they are replicas, at least they are very good ones and still worth a bit of money. Not a bad find methinks considering I paid $10 each for them from a private party. ;)

I am also wondering if they are Spelter (zinc alloy), not brass. They look to have an antique brass finish on them.

I think it might be worth a little more digging and probably getting them professionally appraised even.

I realize the chances are very slim, but I'd really hate to sell these for $50 to $100 or so only to find out that they're worth thousands and belong in a museum or something lol.
