Featured Needle holder origin

    Howdy all have seen this advertised and welcome thoughts. Is it a needle holder and anyone know possible age and origin please. I like the different things and this seems to fit the mould welcome tthoughts and these are only pictures.     A very unusual find, Chris. It is a chatelaine with needle case. Collectors of etnic jewellery and costume will love this.
    I agree, Middle Eastern. That type of link is also used a lot in the region. I would place it in or very close to Palestine, with that big wire-wound ring.
    This needle case is purely Middle Eastern made, but the techniques of cannetille and filigree were introduced in the region centuries ago by Armenian silversmiths.
    Palestine has always been a mix of cultures. And Armenian silversmiths were the great innovators in the region, their techniques spread throughout Asia, Europe and North Africa.
