Neolithic Chinese jar with worn paint

    Does this look like a period (2000BC -3000BC) piece? How about the worn paint? Why does it look like it's rubbed off? I thought it should be fired in the kiln and be more permanent

    Old...probably. But 2-3K years? I have doubts. Lovely, tho...

    2 or 3 thousand years? No, I don't think it is even Chinese.

    The condition is too 'new,' 'crisp' and unworn for something that old.

    And to clarify, 2000-3000 BC would be 4-5000 years ago. That's a long time to never chip the rim!!

    I see a chip on the rim, and what's up with the hole in the bottom? Someone used it as a lamp?
