Hey guys, it's been a while since my last post, but I have some nice stuff to show:

Medal and miniature for 20 years of service in the Brazilian Army:

Medal for 30 years of service in the Brazilian Army:

(now I just need to find the 40 years medal, very very rare... and expensive)

Grand Officer Star of the Order of Aeronautical Merit from Brazil:

The Honour Cross of the World War 1914/1918:

    WW1 Wound Badge:

I've read that this cut out version is not the real thing, can anyone confirm that?

    Nazi German gas mask:

komokwa and i need help like this.

The wound badges were pressed out of sheet metal so your is probably fake. Nice Waffenamt stamp on the gassmask

Found this medal, 30 years and yours has the top 3 stars filled in at the bottoms? This one I found on Pinterest and the stars are fully cut out. I’m no military expert but I thought this one is a better casting. 55D048FF-C799-41C1-9837-E0877F1E2F2C.jpeg

these medals have been made since 1901, so there have been several different makers and quality some of them are even made fully of gold

Is it worth someone’s while to fake them? I don’t know how much they are to buy but you said they are scarce and yours does look a bit suspect. As I said though I’m not an expert and just raising a question.

the ones made of gold are very expensive for sure, I've seen them for a thousand dollars at auction.

But mine is not gold, it is what we call in Portuguese Golden Silver, no idea what that is, but apparently in Brazil and Portugal it is used in new medals and jewelry.

I'm not too suspicious about the 30 years one, I was more worried about the 20 years.

But I've been looking online and the newer versions seem to have lost a lot of quality

But now that you raised that detail I'm suspicious too... I'll do some more research on it

Done some quick research, the newer versions are poorly casted... I've found a couple more with the stars filled at the bottom, including the 20 years medal, even some old ones had the bottom of the stars filled.
Unfortunately, the newer ones have lost a lot of the details the old ones used to have.

But I will research more deeply

The Pinterest one cast is so clear, I’ve no idea where it is, maybe a museum. Is yours the same text on the back?
    The wound badge looks good.

yes, they all have that text on the back. It refers to the law that created the medal
