I’m new to this forum and to collecting. I recently found this glass figurine of a clown playing a musical instrument at a sale. It may have been attached to something as the back is molded and is a bit sticky and the round bottom appears to screw onto something.

Please respond if you can help me identify what this is or what its purpose was.

    Thanks so much!

    Welcome Peartree,
I believe you would narrow search term to Pierrot clown, based on the clothing.

Welcome fellow hoarder , i agree with the other posts it looks like a Pierrot my mum used to collect these when i was a child so i can date that to the mid 80s (my childhood not the clown you have) that looks more 70s to me , hope this helps my friend.

    Did I miss the size?
    Is it about 8"?

Might screw into a center bowl. Possibly English or German. @Ownedbybear
I think it probably dates to the 1930s

It also looks like it was painted by someone not the company who made it.

Or maybe he is part of a lamp.
Has to be something with weight or he'll topple.

Cluttered, you nailed it!!! Amazing, for sure. Is there any other information with the Pinterest listing, like the title?

    Thank you sooo much!

I went to the Pinterest page, but the minute I tried to scroll down it froze, their annoying Join the site popped up and I couldn't go any further.

    sorry.

I searched google images for Pierrot art deco lamp. And it was pictured.

Nope, I only like it to scroll through. I certainly do not want to join it.

Good job pulling up the Ruby Lane listing.:)

Wonder where the Ruby Lane seller got their information.
I have the LE Smith book. There is no Pierrot lamp shown.
There is a minstrel powder jar and as you can see the details are not quite the same as the OP's.

Also, none of the LE Smith lamps have pieces that screw into the base as this one does.
