Anyone have any initial thoughts? Not sure if the bottom of the base looks like a cheap mounting? Could be an indication on if the work is by a listed artist. Also I bought this in Los Angeles if that is any help

My initial reaction is student work but really don't know anything.

That was my thought too. (It's very tentative in execution.)

Thank you- does the bottom mounting tell you anything?

It's very makeshift, isn't it, the base? What I would expect of a student work. Still, a very heartfelt piece. I thought at first a child but given nipped waist think perhaps an adult woman with a Dorothy Hamill haircut. Would be correct for period.

    Or is it a boy?

Definitely a boy since he is naked and his genitals are showing. It’s quite an attractive piece to me. Do amateur artists have access to this kind of casting tools? I would think it would be hard to cast something like this...
