My name is Heather. My husband and I just bought a house that was built in 1924. We were searching through some cabinets and found all of the original plans! There are a lot of things here that are original to the house and I hope to be able to come here and ask questions and talk.

    Hi Heather,
Isn't wonderful to find plans like that? My friend Mark bought a house in Jersey that was built in 1929. It was a huge brick 7 bedrooms. It had a "speakeasy" in the basement. After he bought it, the woman who owned it offered the blueprints and watercolors of the speakeasy for sale on eBay. Of course Mark bought them wondering why the women did not offer them to him. Of course in the blueprints showed a hidden room and large safe. Due to the prints Mark was able to find the room and the safe. The safe was empty . The house had two other safes hidden in the floor of two bathroom closets. I hope you love your house and welcome to the board.

    Welcome Heather! :)
WOW!!! THAT is a major score!
Suggestion....... Take them to a blueprint company and make copies to work from and frame. Then save the originals in an acid free tube which the print shop may have for sale. :)
Also have them sent to you electronically, save them on your computer and flash drive and show us! :)

I had a 1914 Craftsman farmhouse and I bought books and photos from 1914 to have around. :)
