I’m new to the group. I’m an antique shopper who’s looking to learn more about the pieces I buy. Currently purchased a bracelet that’s marked 750, but then has a markers mark that I can’t read…. It looks to me like VCA, but I don’t see any serial numbers…. So that’s puzzling. There are photo of VCA bracelets that look very similar but newer that are made with coral. I think it’s a piece that was done way earlier but can’t be sure… I can’t make out the marker…. It’s definitely not an eagle head or anything like that.
Hoping to get some help on it.

Van Cleef & Arpels always has a number. By number and check. There are doubts.

Yes, top names are often faked, so always best to check.

  12. They do on many pieces now but they did not always use numbers.
I will upload the other design they did like this but with coral

  13. i can send a message but it cost $1800 for them to review and that is why I came to the message board. If it were $500 I’d do it, but at almost $2000 it’s not worth the risk.

I did not see any serial number on the piece so this would have been when they were doing just the VCA

it makes no sense to have that stamp next to the 750 . It’s definitely a markers mark… just very old now

  14. Here is a old but newer version they made with with coral. This would have been after the solid gold

looking at this piece is why I think it is VCA. This piece does have serial numbers and hand written markers mark

It could be difficult to spot, since the design is so textured. Did you look with a loupe?

  16. I’ve looked all over. I did not look through a loupe but a magnifier around the marker

It is usually somewhere near the other marks, but not part of the same set of marks, if that makes sense.

  19. Here is an upload of the comparison.

i think the solid gold one that I have is a first version of the corral…

the corral they changed up the clasp and concaved the smaller links. Most likely to make it smoother on the wrist as the pattern touches the wrist and rubs
