    A word I learned as a child thanks to my early interest in pre-Columbian arts. A small compensation for all those days of fever, while my friends were playing outside.

    If you are interested in learning more about tumbaga, you might want to look up the publications of Heather Lechtman (MIT), one of the first to do serious metallurgical studies of the Andean gold/copper tumbaga alloys and other complex alloys used in the region.
