The TV station I watch most often (besides PBS) has been running a "Thrifting Thursday" segment on an evening show for some time now. And their morning talk show often brings in "Goodwill Finds" for clothing style and Halloween costume segments for a long time. After all, this is the home of "Thrift Shop!" I think other parts of the country are finally getting with the trend.

I'd like to theorize that the savvy collector doesn't follow the herd if he/she wants to get quality stuff at bargain prices so thrift stores are perhaps so trendy right now they might be difficult to buy things from. Kind of like storage auctions were a few years back with the tv series "storage wars" being so popular and driving lots of people to attend and drive up prices.
