Sorry about that last one - here's a nicer one.

Oil on canvas, about 50 X 25 CM. It's signed "Adelaide Munn/38". I've found her in some newspaper articles from Montreal where she is listed as exhibiting with some other artists.

Here's a photo of a newspaper clipping from "La Presse" dated 1943 that mentions her exhibiting during the "Salons du Printemps". Sorry for the quality- it's a picture of a printout that is very small.

Basically it lists a painting from Adelaide Munn entitled "Marshs Marigolds", which may be the work I have here, based on the subject matter.

So that "Salon de Printemps" would of course be in Quebec, probably Montreal, as in Paris during 1943 there would likely be a rather more sombre series of events, no?

Yes, the newspaper, La Presse, is a Montreal newspaper. Here's an excerpt from Wikipedia:

"La Presse, founded in 1884, is a French-language digital newspaper published daily in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is owned by a social trust. La Presse was a broadsheet daily published seven days a week that was considered a newspaper of record in Canada."
