    Hi all,
    I’m a collector of autographs and signed documents related to labor and industry — labor names like Debs and Gompers and Hoffa and Cesar Chavez; and founders of name-brand companies (like IBM, Walmart, Standard Oil, etc).

    The only collectable autograph I own is on a letter from ex Prime Minister of Canada Joe Clark plus the envelope it came in from the Prime Ministers office .. the letter was given to me by a male friend but I had met with Joe Clark and his wife and we discussed the needs of the Native people in Alberta .. WOW that was some years back !! ... Joy. :)

    By the way, we didn't discuss the needs of ALL the Native folk in Alberta only the isolated community in which I worked. Didn't want to make myself sound too important because I wasn't. .. Joy. :)

    Thanks! Lots of very interesting personalities and stories make for a fun hobby.
    Here’s an example: back during prohibition, the Pabst brewery couldn’t make beer so they needed to rent out their space to other Milwaukee businesses to make ends meet — like the Harley Davidson Company! Here’s my letter from Fred Pabst Jr. to Harley co-founder Arthur Davidson, signed by the two of them, about the terms of the arrangement. Fun stuff!

    Hi EJS. I love that letter...It's so to the point and personal. Today, that 'letter' would be a 37 page document written in legalese that would have been passed back and forth between legal reps between companies a dozen times.

    Welcome to the forums! Sounds like a fascinating collection. I love old ephemera too. Industrial America is sadly mostly relegated to the history books now and this nation's sprawling factory complexes are mostly gone.
