Not coins ... but coin shaped mystery items.

    These mystery items came in my jewelry 'grab bag' I recently bought (not the quarter - it's just there for size reference) - they don't seem very old ... and I've not been able to find any information on what they are. Googling China Arts Saloon only gives me a load of repro tokens from old west saloons ... but I don't think that's what this is supposed to be. The Perth mint piece had nothing relevant returned from a Google search - not even similar souvenirs. Maybe my Google is broken. Has anyone run across these items before?

    OK ... One mystery solved.
    Google wasn't broken, it just wasn't reading my mind. Looking up Perth mint (without all the other words) did bring a few of these 'coins' up ... they appear to be some DIY souvenir coin that visitors could press for themselves in a machine - for a small fee.

    So why couldn't I find these? I swear, some days Google hates me.

    Those sellers didn't seem to know what they were either ... no wonder they didn't sell ... well, I'd say the asking prices didn't help either :rolleyes:.

    Yes, thanks ... it's one of my specifically chosen 'props' for size comparison ... that and a 1963 dime ... 1963 is part of my eBay selling ID.
