Not much value but wins the award for “best patina ever” in my opinion. Copper frame for tintype

Found this cool frame at an estate sale this weekend. I believe it’s for tintype photos. Can’t imagine it’s worth more than a few bucks but it’s got the greatest patina ever! Particularly the back is
amazing. I mean you could just say it’s “beat to shit” but I think it’s beautiful. Looks even better or shittier in person depending on your perspective lol.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Wow, it's been through a lot... including somebody trying to repair it. Maybe make a sculpture or art object from it, since you like it? Or just leave it as is, and enjoy!

    I love its look!!!
But it seems someone hated the person/portrait it once framed:D;)

I know! The repairs are the best part! I’ll probably find a good photo for it at some point as someone suggested and keep it as is. I think it’s great!

Found art. You just have to find a way to convince people that the back it has now is the picture it was meant to frame.

I like it! The back already is a work of art.

Nothing to do with your piece, but I thought I'd show this enameled copper plaque by a Canadian artist named Alan Perkins. It's about 5 1/2" by 8" and is titled Pacific Rim '83.

Beautiful little piece! I love the way enamel/cloisonné on copper and brass looks.
