Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

Still have a few gatherings of things.....First pic should be three items....a broken at handle MOP letter opener (?) about 6" in length - no sterling marks; a silver Hemming guide (?) Back says "PELOUZE SCALL & MFG CO CHICAGO PAT. OCT. 2. 94 PATS PENDG - that also is about 6" long; and a bone handle knife of some sort....or cutting tool.....which is also near 6" in length; Second pic should be the MOP 'blade'; Third pic should be Silver plate 'Bobeche' (?), Sterling earrings & 'cats eye stone (?); Fourth should be angle and back of Third; Fifth should be close-up of earrings; and Sixth should be Glass and Sterling earrings, cuff links & 2 gold wedding rings (one says 14K). When I
figure some values, I will be seeing if moving all except the MOP letter opener and quarter :hilarious: over to "sell".......if anything worth selling!!!

BTW, you can probably see that the 'rosette' on the hemming thing slides....

One more thing.....The next to LAST image.....the Crochet hook (?)....doesn't it look like someone took a VERY small gold thimble and custom added it to the handle?????

And SORRY, forgot to add the last two pics..........

The cat's eye is an operculum.

The bone handled thing might be an ink scraper (eraser).

Operculum: a plate secreted by a gastropod mollusk that serves to close the aperture of the mollusk's shell when the animal is retracted.

The ruler thing may have been some sort or gauge. The cuff links are probably fantasy pieces; fake heraldic stuff was everywhere for a few years. The others I know, someone else got to first.

It's odd on that scale thing that the holes are so irregular. Or are they just showing a lot of wear (drag to the left)?

So, are they rare?? Why would someone make it into a pin or stickpin....at least I think that's what I have.....no pin.....maybe broken off?

Interesting point!!! Did a search on the name and came up with a museum in Chicago that has a couple of different pieces with that name....so, wrote them to see if they could give any info on what I have....but I also saw NO link to send them pics! Hoping they respond!!

It looks like they holes were drilled by the owner. And sloppily. They don't line up to the marks.

It can't be 1894 and Edwardian. I suspect that price is a dream.

With Victorian sewing implements, you never know. I suspect someone threw it out there to see what would happen.
