Featured Oberon Design Tooled Leather -- how to describe

No idea what category to put this in. Hand tooled Oberon Design (California) checkbook cover. The makers have a following on Ebay, so I plan to list it. Are these Redwood trees? As I viewed the photos wondered if the little dots indicate ... snow? Do I have that right?

What would be a clever way to describe the top part which is sort of "cut to clear" for lack of a better term -- which suggests even more trees in the background.

    Thanks for taking a look.

Oberons description is "Lone Pine/Sequoia in fern.
I saw a little note pad with the same design.

to me it looks like the trees are caked in snow as well, couldn't see all the little dots at first :woot:

i would think some kind of leather embossing for a term or embossed

"Leather Checkbook Cover, Deeply Embossed Lone Pine/Sequoia in Fern, in red on dark ground"

It's more than 80 characters; edit to fit.
    Good luck, Lucille!

I bet it did! Oberon work is much prized in Northern California. I used to go drool over their stuff at the Renaissance Faire and wish I could afford it. I don’t know if it’s still true, but it was all hand done, not mass produced in a factory abroad.

I listed it on Ebay at $49, went to get a glass of water and came back and it was sold. Someone must have had an Ebay search/alert on the maker's name. Or possibly the clever wording above! :)

I was happy with the sale so no complaints.
