    Hi Judy

Sorry it isn't mine, but i would like one. Just after a general name of what this would be called. I guess it's not a vase or a jug.

I really can't tell what it is.

Looks like a ceramic pot filled with green leaves? Are they ceramic too?

    Best to wait for others.

Ok I have now found it. It's a Wedgwood Etruria And Barlaston Moonstone White Mantle Vase.

    Thanks

That wide shape is generally a mantel vase.

    These often had wire frogs.

Thanks, one of the ones I looked at had some marks inside that the owner suggested may have been made by a frog. Would be interesting to see if I can locate a photo with one installed.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Now that you've identified it, you should have no problem finding some for sale. After reading your last comment I went looking for old photos that might show one on a mantle, but came up with nothing. I collect antique photos and some time soon I'll look through my collection to see if there happens to be an image of one. Not likely, but one never knows!

Thank you that's very kind. I will also look and post if I come up with anything. Hopefully it might then be possible to fashion something similar.

it would be fairly easy to remake a similar arrangement; all you need is a block of floral foam (available from most any florist) and the appropriate dried flowers (there are various avenues to acquire similar dried hydrangeas) ...

The wire frogs are basically shaped chicken wire.

I thought I might try something like that. With legs, or just an oval to sit inside?

Some had legs, those were a bit more "sophisiticated". Most were just an oval that rested inside.

Many thanks. Once the vase arrives I will try and make one.
