Featured Odd blue glass pendant

This is just odd
A lowly pot metal pendant with blue glass. Glass is much nicer than the surround but only glued in so the maker didn’t think it deserved better.
There are brown swirls in the blue glass, almost looks like an oval panel is inset into the glass.
The glass has a V faceted edge and glows red over a phone light.
Approx 1.5”
Definitely glass and non reactive to UV.
Any ideas please?

Someone used a faux saphiret Czech cab, I reckon.

 

So an older cab put into a more modern setting or more modern glass mimicking older saphiret?

 

Not sure, but probably more modern glass.
