I've got several lovely lonesome earrings to find out about.
This is the first which fluoresces under UV.
Does the metal work lead to any conclusions?. It's quite big at c 2inches long.

    Thanks for looking :)

Very cool and interesting earrings #1

Dowsing? Like the person would hang their head to the side and ask questions?
:hilarious: I thought that was a Kidding answer.

Very unusual, K. The metal has Gothic style trefoils.
Yes, that you should send it to me and I will take very good care of it.:greedy::cool:

This would make for a beautiful pendant!

That style of clip is typically late 40s into early 50s.

Ladies, ladies have some decorum!. No elbowing or pushing and form an orderly queue!
This is a product of your rather excellent education that I spotted it in a Joblot of earrings that were VERY cheap!.
Very sadly it is a lone one with no mate but as BMRT says I was thinking pendant.
Where do you think it originated?
Still very confused as to how Dowsing got onto this thread though?. Only @i need help and @flipper know.

Inside joke? If INH wants to share, I am fine with that...otherwise, it is not of any importance now. Especially since the thread has taken another turn, anyway.
I still think it is a special piece of jewelry, and I am obviously not the only one.

I didn’t read or notice it was an earring. I thought Dowser, it’s large.

It looks like a dowsing pendulum.;) It probably works too.

The style is Norhern European, not southern. It could be English. The amber could be Baltic, but amber is occasionally found along any part of North Sea coast as well. We get it here too.

Forgot to say, if it is amber, it is pressed, meaning heated and put in a mold of that shape. They do that a lot, and it is perfectly fine.:)

K, I would love to buy it off you, but to be honest, if I were you I would keep it and wear it as a pendant. It is unusual and such a beauty.

Very cool piece. Austrian, German or Czech? Glass? Definitely as a pendant.

No, not glass. I was sure it was Czech glass to begin with but tapping it on my teeth wasn't convincing me so then I thought plastic, then had a (very slow:hilarious:) lightbulb moment that it could be Amber and it glows gently under UV.
It is so going to be a pendant. I have lots of Amber and Amber glass to play around with or may keep it simple.

Good to know. The dangle part (can't tell about the button at top) doesn't look like amber to me; way too clear and the metal work doesn't "match" amber. Perhaps another phenolic? It 'seems' to light and clear? Ya did the tests?
