Featured Odd old glass dish - cased green band, gold decoration.

    I've seen similar bowls, but never really looked closely at them I guess. This bowl has indented lines and the gold has a texture. The green is cased and the glass covered with gold looks painted.
    Can you help me with this? It's about 8" across.

    pretty bowl. are you sure the green is cased? looks like it was applied from the back of the bowl, looks like a matte or satin finish?

    Yes, that's what I meant cxgirl! I thought at first it was cased, but it's painted. Thank you!!

    The "gold" part looks like "hammered copper", popular in the A&C & Mission era in the early 20th century.
    Weird if that's glass, didn't realize they could do that with glass, cool looking.

    nope, it wouldn't be hammered copper, just glass, I would think Mid Century time wise:)

    But, it LOOKS like hammered copper, at least over here in the photo. Is it supposed to?

    It does look like hammered copper. But it's glass.
    I'm assuming it's molded - how else could it get that way? The "scored" lines must be molded too.

    Honeycomb is perfectly symmetrical

    Well, you know, it was on Home page on my way to furniture forum, dropped by and, first reaction, Is that hammered copper? It sure looks like it in the photo.
    Knows ZERO about glass but, that hammered copper look is very cool.

    My first impression was Culver because it has that gold stuff on it (at least what I can see). Will look in my book and if I find anything with come back.
