IMG_5797.JPEG IMG_5799.JPEG gigireduced.jpg IMG_4795.JPEG IMG_4794.JPEG I have two works by the same artist. They are actually well done but I can not seem to find out any information based on the signature. I kept thinking the artist was Gigi but now I am wondering if I reading it wrong and maybe the letters are more stylized that I am seeing? There is graphite or charcoal smudging on both around the outline.
Any one else see something besides Gigi?
    Thank you for looking!

Nah - it's Gigi for sure - looks like Italian souvenir art, bought on a holiday.

I agree that they're well done, but blooey is very probably correct.

Are you sure they are oil on canvas? Looks more to me like charcoal/conte.

Doing image searches, you might find the first as a sculpture - it's in that format. The second just looks familiar.

There's an outside chance they might be preparatory studies for engravings and it might be worth searching them as engravings.

So I had my professional photographer shoot these are now I am puzzled. They are shooting more like prints on canvas? I can't tell if I am seeing pixals or the medium settling in to the canvas? I definitely see some areas that are thick - almost like the acrylic or possibly conte that Moreotherstuff referred to above when looking at the works in person. There is also no bleed through the canvas although I am not sure charcoal/crayon would do that. hard to say. Gigi is mostly male for Luigi in Italy. but in Germany it's short for Gisela.
