Most listings on eBay say 'cast aluminium'.

Candle holder, odds on. I wouldn't know Arthur Court if I tripped on him.

I’m seeing a lot of coasters, but not with fish. :)

looks like a master salt to me, but with a 2005 date , i don't suppose i'm correct. Are salt dips still made?...Possibly a tartar sauce dish? Being fish themed and all........caviar?

It could have possibly held a glass liner/cup/vase at some point?

My 2 cents: could this be a wine coaster/holder?

It would depend on the diameter of the hole. Most coasters also don't have walls that high; they're generally flat or close to it.

I like the glass candle holder best. It is to small for a coaster. I was thinking paper clip holder the inside bottom is about 1 3/8 inches
