PA250214 (480x640).jpg PA250210 (480x640).jpg PA250212 (480x640).jpg Picked this up at my last visit to the estate, and can't figure out what it is.
    Or what to search....

Could be for pulling down window blinds (on tall windows like in my elementary school) OR for pulling down those big roll-up wall maps. (same school)

It was also useful for pulling down the projection screen for movies or film strips. ;)

I actually have a hockey stick with about 2/3 of the blade gone.
It's very handy for 'hooking' things...still.

I found examples of Transom window poles, but I can't find anything just like this.

I'd say this one was unusual as more should be like I described.

    Hi,
I have the brass end of that window opener sitting on the shelf in my hallway. Everyone guesses something different only the really old know what it is.

That's what I see King, but nothing like mine. Could it be a tool for school like Bakersgma said?

These were/are in schools and factories.
Yours is just a different version that, possibly, was used for not only maps but windows and transoms as well.
These don't come with directions so it would've been used for whatever.
