    Hi folks

I've wanted one of these onion type bottles for ages

And this was is coming up at a local auction

They only ever post one picture of everything, so things never really sell for that much, as its always a bit of a gamble.

I like the look of it though

There seem to be a snake or dragon emblem

Any advice or info would be very helpful, as I want it, but don't know what kind of price these things can fetch

    Any thoughts appreciated

    This is the only pic

I need to see its bottom! ;)

The irridescence is good but as sis says, these do get copied. It's trying to be 18th C. I dunno: if it's cheap, do it.

Thanks for the info obb and sis, that's harder to tell if they were reproduced using the same techniques

I'll probably bid what I see it as as a decorative piece of glass, probably up there in the hundreds if real I reckon

I don't know enough to help. I do OK if I can see the base, but I'm no expert and wouldn't know a valuable bottle from an orange juice glass. :p

Heraldic salamander? Sure looks like. They were flame-throwers too.

Was in a house clearance shop today, and behind the counter the lady had about 300 1970s miniature whiskey unopened bottles. Some 40 years old at the time of bottling.

Needless to say, I bought all of the Scottish single malt whiskey ones at a £1 each

I'm 4 in deep, and loving life :)

There's one called glayva which is a 70% proof whiskey liqueur that is unbelievable.

From research there's a brand called macallan which is the finest most expensive whiskey known to man

    Going back tomorrow........

I adore a decent malt. Went to a tasting education session once. At the end, they left a bottle of the Macallan on the table and said help yourself. Oops.

Glayva is a tad sweet for me.

I'm gobsmacked, thought I'd be on death row this morning/afternoon

But nothing, I've heard that about quality vintage whiskeys but thought it was hogwash

Feels more like I've had a tonic or 4 :woot:

Very sweet, that's what I liked about it, will have to get some more

The macalllan wasn't one of these was it obb, and these are just miniatures :greedy:
