    Milton Bradley

I believe the colored pips are more recent

    Hi Davey,
My first set was in the early 50s, I agree with Terry, Milton Bradley. I would toss the dominoes and save the wooden case.

Early sets did come in a wood box, although yours may not have been original Dragon. I would seek a broken set of same, keeping your set together.

My first thought was too sloppy in fit which makes me think the box was not for them. I realize the end is loose but not as loose as the space within the box even if that small domino was replaced with one of the others.

I agree, early sets did come in a wood box, as well as yesterday's dominos.

I thought like Terry that colored pips were a relatively modern innovation; however, here is set that the seller says is 1940s. Does the seller really know or is just assuming because of wear and tear on the dominoes?:

    1940s Halsam Dominoes:

Here is a set of Halsam Dominoes in a wooden box that may be like yours, but don't think the pips are colored. There are 2 seats in this listing, one in a wooden box and another in a cardboard box:

It appears both Halsam and Milton Bradley did "Dragon Dominoes."

I definitely believe this is a domino box, but not sure these particular dominoes came in this box. I haven't any idea on the age of your set because the box and dominoes look like they have been through Hurricane Katrina. Like others have said, these colored pip dominoes may not be original to the box.

I've sold some of those dominoes on Ebay. The colored ones are newer. Do a search over there for completed auctions and see what they're going for now. A lot of crafters are using them for projects so they're kind of hot right now.
