Old? Earrings

    Bought some interesting looking earrings. Most pair are pretty cut and dry but these have a design on the side. Not sure if these are gold, a magnet does not stick to any part of these. Both unmarked.

    Those look like 1960s vintage Toledoware.

    Yup, Toledo Ware - I have several bracelets which have that inset MOP detail. Some is real, some is plastic. The better ones are MOP.

    At the end of this informative blog post is the following:
    "'Toledoware' is a slang term that is often used to refer to faux damascene made in Spain. Toledo is the Spanish city where fine damascene is made, but most of the faux damascene jewelry was also made in Spain and usually stamped 'SPAIN.' Those stamps have sometimes confused people, but as mentioned, compare them side-by-side and you’ll see which is the genuine vintage damascene jewelry and which is the 'faux.'"
