Old fur coat, possible monkey or seal fur

I was cleaning out my back room to find more winter coats, which I have lots of them from the 30's to now, I am such a hoarder of vintage clothing, ( HELP ) ! ME !
I found this fur coat in a box I packed a while back.
I was wondering if my friends on here can tell me what kind of fur it is. It is very very soft and smooth to the touch.

Just tossing it out there to get the ball rolling. Closest match I could find, given I have a very fragmented idea of what your coat looks like.

 

It looks like rabbit fur to me, dyed black.
I have a similar one which used to be my grandmother's, I think it is 1940s, maybe 30s. It is also dark reddish at the base of the hairs. She gave it to me when I was 20, and it was the first coat that actually kept me warm in winter. (Thank you Oma!)
Overhere it used to be sold as 'sealskin', but that is just a name, it is rabbit fur. Softer than cotton wool.

 

In the 1970's, I had a sheared black muskrat coat that had belonged to my grandmother many years prior. It had the softest, silkiest feel you could imagine.

Just throwing that out there as a possibility... ???

 

I think we've narrowed it down to a cute or not so cute rodent.
