I found these two old iron pieces and I was wondering if anyone could help me with identification. The first piece, the funnel, is about 3 inches by 3 inches with no markings. The second one is a 14 inch hook with, what appears to be, a small hatchet on the back and it is marked U.S.Y. Thanks for the assist. 20190614_164238-954x2016.jpg 20190614_164244-763x1612.jpg 20190614_164254-954x2016.jpg 20190614_164615-953x809.jpg 20190614_164542-808x1243.jpg 20190614_164316-954x2016.jpg

The hook looks like a bale hook, the hatchet part is probably for slicing the string.

I thought maybe an antique firemen's tool? Not a clue on the second one.

The bottom one is ribbed or graduated suggesting a hose fitted on it.

Top of that funnel looking piece looks like it would lock into some sort of collar.

MY first thought on the FIRST image was an ICE hook with the blade for making the ice fit somewhere......like into an old "ice box".....maybe a guy who used to deliver ice to a home........

Not a clue on the other, but an old fire hose attachment sounds like a good guess.....maybe off an old pumper or hand pumper????:rolleyes:

I think I may have figured it out (thanks too google) but it's just a guess because I haven't found one that's like it. I think it's a "hog hook" and I still dont know what the small hatchet is for. I think U.S.Y. stands for Union Stock Yards in Chicago. I'm just guessing though. I still dont know what the funnel is.
